Cultural Heritage Management

castellum

The use of cultural heritage by societies today involves the creation of organizations that take responsibility for its management. The territorial scope of these organizations is very variable and ranges from world scale to local scale. Their aims may be identical or complementary but also different and even diverging. The main aim of some museums is to conserve heritage while others are concerned with promotion, etc. These differences can result in a diversity of organizational and management models. Generally, models of society and the evolution of public administration management models condition the genesis and development of these organizations. Therefore, deciding on a model is not accidental but rather the result of a series of factors that determine the use made of this heritage or the way it is projected to society. Bearing this important fact in mind, one of the institute’s lines of research is the study of the different models of organization and management of cultural heritage in contemporary societies and their consequences and significance.
