PhD in History from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, 1997.
He was scholarship student for training research staff at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and later became lecturer of Arts at University College Girona (UAB) from 1978 to 1991. From 1983 to 1985 he was curator of the Archaeological and Monumental Heritage Site and Monographic Museum of Empuries (Archaeological Museum of Barcelona, Barcelona Provincial Government). Lecturer in archaeology at the Arts Department of the CUG (UAB) from 1983 to 1991 and later at the University of Girona from 1991 to 1994. Since 1994 he has been Professor of Archaeology at the University of Girona (UdG). Ha has been the director of the Cultural Heritage Institute and vice-rector of research in humanities at the University of Girona. He has contributed, as main researcher, to numerous competitive projects on archaeological aspects. He has carried out numerous archaeological excavations at national level and in Italy (Magna Mater of Ostia). He has supervised numerous doctoral and degree theses and research projects. He is author of numerous papers and books.
